Maximize cluster efficiency with ECS autohealing

Today we announce ECS autohealing for Elastigroup, which helps ensure that your container instances are always healthy and ready to serve your tasks and services needs.

Previously, you could configure auto healing for your Elastigroup cluster by choosing from Spotinst’s variety of health check options such as EC2,Load Balancer and Http/s endpoint checks. However, these are not ideal for containerized application clusters, since an instance might pass all the above health checks, but still be deemed unhealthy.

With the new ECS autohealing feature, Elastigroup monitors the instance status periodically. When the system detects an instance with an INACTIVE state or an instance that is not registered with the cluster properly, it considers the instance unhealthy and triggers an instance replacement to maximize your cluster’s efficiency and performance.
